Contrast Tee, Neon Jacket, & Pre-Haircut

Amy's Food Adventures had a macaron giveaway recently and I was lucky enough to be one of the winners! I chose green tea and black sesame macarons (so Asian) and loved them. Before this and my trip to Quebec, I was never a fan of macarons. I thought they tasted mediocre and only looked pretty. Guess I never tasted a good one! I suggested durian flavoured macarons to Amy in the hopes that she makes them in the future. Can't wait to try them if she does! Check out her online bakery here.

I love non-basic tees. If you wear them alone with jeans, they really are what make the outfit more special. This contrast pocket & back tee from StyleMint is an old purchase, but I find myself reaching for it a lot. Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen outdo themselves every month as they put out new designs. Have you tried StyleMint yet? I'd love to hear about your experience!
My boyfriend cut my hair after we took these outfit photos. I'm too cheap to fork out $25+ to cut off a bit of hair. Those who follow me on Instagram and/or Twitter have already seen my new 'do (which is almost two weeks old by now). I find myself getting a front bangs every couple of years or so. The change is always drastic, but I like the change! My roots are also growing out and it looks so bad because I don't have light ends anymore. I used to like the blonde ombré effect, but it's old news for me now since I've had it in 2012. Time for a change! I've been wanting black & blue hair for a while, so that might be next for me.

I'd love to know...
Do you get your hair professionally done or do you cut/dye it yourself? How often?

And I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!

  1. I love Amy's deserts!! I'm glad to know they taste as good as they look. Also your new hairdo is amazing :), the instagram pictures look great. As for myself...I like to get my hair professionally done, that way if it goes awry, I wouldn't have to blame a family member or friend :).

    1. Smart thinking on getting your hair professionally done. ; ) If I wanted a difficult colour or style, I'd go to a professional. You never know what can happen with hair dying!

    1. I don't really visit one salon consistently, but I usually go to Asian places who have experience working with fine Asian hair. Not to say I haven't visited non-Asian places though! Sorry my answer wasn't of much help. :( !

  4. Clicked over to the Instagram pic...cute haircut! Your bf did well! Black and blue...oh! That would be fun! My husband requests that I try orange! Maybe in the summer. But I also just want to get a color as close to my roots as possible and let it grow without worrying about roots and coloring.

    Love that top!

Wow, I rarely see orange hair! It'll be hard to pull off, but what better time to try a bright colour than in the summer? : )

  6. I saw your bangs, but thought you were using those clip-ins LOL! Those macarons look yummy! I too usually go for "Asian" flavors - I had a Thai Milk Tea one and a Black Tea one that were SO good. Love the neon with the zippers and notched collar :)
