My Current Skincare Products

My last beauty post was titled "My Favourite", but I used the word "current" here instead because I'm only beginning to try different skincare products out. These are what I'm using now. I'll be asking for suggestions throughout this post. Hope you guys can help! : )

1. Olay Complete All Day UV Moisturizer - I grew up with Olay's facial moisturizers. Both my mom & I swear by them and it'll be difficult for us to switch brands. My face always feels soft and smooth thanks to my daily use of Olay. I use the moisturizer for "normal skin".

2. Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Moisturizing Gel - I bought this from Sephora during one of their Beauty Insider sales (I rarely buy anything from Sephora unless they send me a coupon) to try out. I read a lot of good reviews about the White Lucent line and wanted to give this a shot to "brighten" my face. I used it nightly for about a month, then I was on and off with it. I didn't see any dramatic results and can't say I would purchase this product again.

3. Shiseido Bio-Performance Super Restoring Cream - I redeemed a sample of this with my Beauty Insider points after learning from the store manager that it was an eye cream. The little jar didn't specifically say eye cream, so I went home and searched online to learn that it can be used on the rest of the face as well. The cream is marketed as a time-fighting cream that reduces wrinkles and firms the skin. After one or two nights of using this just around my eye area, I really noticed a difference in the elasticity under my eyes! I was a little surprised that the product worked so quickly, but I'll continue to use it to see if the results last.

4. Clean & Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub - I randomly bought this exfoliating scrub from the drugstore because it was on sale and I had no idea what "good" ones are on the market. Although the product works well, I'm interested in trying out other brands as well.

Please share your favourite face scrubs! Do you DIY them?

5. Shu Uemura Brightening Cleansing Oil (c/o Shu Uemura) - I haven't been using this cleanser regularly, but so far, I don't have any complaints about it. I love how it makes my skin feel after a good rinse. I've tried some facial cleansers that made my face feel "squeaky clean" and a rubbery feeling that felt unnatural to me. Shu Uemura's removes dirt & oil gently without leaving my skin feeling too dry. My favourite part about it is the pump that makes the oil easy to dispense.

6. Vaseline Total Moisture Lotion (Aloe Fresh) - I switch between the Cocoa Radiant one and Aloe Fresh each time I finish a bottle of these, but my boyfriend prefers the Aloe scent better. He's never been a fan of the cocoa butter smell... SHAME 'cause I love it. :(! This lotion does a good job of moisturizing my body and is at a good price point too. I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't have a holy grail body lotion yet. I just purchased the oat (yellow) bottle since I ran out of the aloe and I love the scent.

7. This would be where my lip balm would go - ...but I'm having such a hard time finding a good one! I've tried Eos lip balms (made my lips peel), Softlips (didn't work that well), and Elizabeth Grant (which was actually my favourite, but inconvenient to buy). The Elizabeth Grant lip moisturizer isn't sold in drugstores. When I contacted the company, they told me I can have it shipped for $10 or pick it up in Scarborough. I don't love the product enough to go out of my way to get it, so I'll be on the hunt for one that is readily available.
Any suggestions? : )

For those who had questions about how I apply Vaseline to my lashes, the instructions will be in my next post. : )

  1. Sheseido have really nice stuff. I like their night cream. Unfortunately, I don't like Clean and Clear cleanser, but the rest of your products look great.

  2. I love the Shu Uemura's Cleansing Oil. It removes my make up without having to use cottons but I would still double cleanse though. I prefer to end the cleansing routine with a foam cleaner =)
I recently tried Vaseline Total Moisture Lotion (cocoa butter) and I like the scent and how it's not too sticky.

    1. I love the cocoa butter scent! The only reason I don't use it anymore is because my boyfriend hates that smell. :P
