Those who follow me on Instagram already know that I made a drastic change to my hair back on February 1st. I haven't had my hair this short since I was in kindergarten!
If you're wondering how much this costs, I'm just going to say it's rather expensive. The price depends on your hair length, colour history, and how many processes it takes to achieve your desired result. FYI, box dyes (which was what I had) are harder to colour over. I was at the salon from 11:30am to almost 11pm that day, but I'd say it was totally worth it. I asked for an asymmetric bob (longer on the left!) and a cool blonde ombré effect. I also brought in a lot of pics to show the stylist that day.
I'm currently using the Joico Color Endure Violet Sulfate-Free Shampoo to preserve my hair's colour. If I stop using it, it'll turn slightly more yellow-blonde, but the purple shampoo almost immediately changes it back again. To prevent my hair from drying out (especially in this weather), I condition it and use hair oils before styling.
If you're in the Toronto area, I went to Raymond Z. at NC+ Salon in Yorkville. Book an appointment with him and tell him I sent you! He'll be more than happy to help out. : )

Thanks, Laura!
DeleteReally like your new hairstyle! Gives a nice edgy look :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! : )
DeleteIt looks great! I chopped mine off a few months ago too. It really is liberating. :)
ReplyDeleteIt really cuts your drying time in half!
DeleteHow much did this cost if you don't mind me asking
ReplyDeleteHi Alisha,
DeleteI didn't want to share the exact cost because it varies between people. The price will depend on your hair length, colour history, and number of processes it will take to achieve the shade(s) you want. It costs approx. $150 per process for an ombre/balayage look.
Hope this helps!
Hey i'm planning to do my hair like this, and I was just wondering what pictures you used to show your hairdresser to get this look?
ReplyDeletethanks!
Hi Isabelle!
DeleteThe colour ended up being cooler than in the pic I showed him. For the cut, I just described what I wanted (asymmetric bob - longer on the left) and we went with it. If you're going for both the cut and colour, I recommend just showing your hairdresser my pics. : )
how many processes did you require? thanks!
ReplyDeleteI needed at least three : )
Deletedid you do all three processes at the same time and paid for it all at once, or came in at separate times?
ReplyDeleteHey Michelle,
DeleteSorry for my late response! I did this all in one day. : )
